Styling Resolutions are NOT Frivolous

If your vision of 2023 you dresses with more conviction than the 2022 you, I’m here to tell you to stick with it!

If you are defining style goals for 2023, do your best to give them purpose, not just “dress better’ or “buy less.” Put some context around the goal so you are working towards a meaningful change.

Here are some styling goals I have for my clients in 2023:

  • Define a style that will help position me as a leader of my industry/network

  • Abandon the idea that as an “X” I must dress a certain way

  • Listen to my own style POV, let myself grow and wear what feels right to me (not just what my friends are or are not wearing)

  • View and treat my wardrobe as a fluid, working collection

These are big, conceptual goals that I believe require the expertise of a stylist. If you are taking on styling resolutions on your own, a manageable goal may have more of a quantitative spin, like this:

  • Try one new silhouette (straight leg, oversized jacket)

  • Once, choose the color option over a neutral in a shopping trip

I really believe there is a place for style resolutions amongst the more traditional spend less, exercise more, get more sleep, etc. When you treat styling as a deep connection to the soul, the care and attention you give to it will absolutely impact your sense of self.
